Estimates are a starting point
A website inquiry or preliminary estimate is not a final price or a contract. Final pricing depends on the approved scope, field conditions, exact measurements, material selection, and written proposal.
Depending on the project, the price may be affected by:
- Square footage, slab yield, seams, edge profiles, cutouts, faucet holes, and backsplashes
- Material availability, natural variation, remnant use, and approved substitutions
- Removal, disposal, leveling, support, repairs, access, protection, and additional trips
- Plumbing, electrical, appliance, cooktop, sink, or other trade coordination
Ask the Artelye team to identify what is included, excluded, estimated, or subject to confirmation before approving the work.
Installation day readiness
Installation timing assumes the site is ready when the crew arrives. Cabinets should be installed, secured, level, and able to support the approved surface. The route to the work area should be clear and reasonably accessible.
Please plan for the following:
- Clear walkways, entry points, elevators, stairs, and staging areas
- Cabinets, walls, and supports ready for the approved countertop
- Appliances, fragile items, and personal belongings moved out of the work area
- A decision-maker available for access, field questions, and the final walkthrough
Unexpected site conditions, delays, return visits, storage, protection, or additional labor may change the schedule or cost.
Plumbing and other trades
Countertop installation does not automatically include plumbing, electrical, gas, appliance, cabinet, drywall, painting, or structural work. Those services are included only when they are expressly listed in the written scope.
Sink and faucet connections, shutoffs, drain changes, disposal connections, cooktops, and appliance work may require a licensed or qualified trade. Confirm who is responsible for disconnecting, reconnecting, testing, permits, and corrections before installation day.
Artelye may coordinate with other trades, but coordination is not the same as performing or warranting their work.
Service area and capacity
Artelye serves homeowners, builders, designers, contractors, and commercial partners throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. Availability depends on the project, location, scope, access, timing, and current production and installation capacity.
As a small business with a limited number of crews and production windows, we may not be able to accept every project or requested date. A requested schedule is not reserved until Artelye confirms it in writing. Large, remote, phased, occupied, or unusually complex projects may require additional review before we can provide a schedule.
Material availability and variation
Natural stone varies in color, movement, veining, texture, thickness, and finish. Digital images and showroom samples cannot guarantee the appearance of a particular slab. Quartz and other manufactured materials can also vary by lot and production run.
Inventory changes. We do not reserve a slab based only on a website inquiry, showroom visit, or preliminary estimate. Confirm current availability and the approved material with the Artelye team before making a final design commitment.
Changes after approval
Changes to the material, layout, edge, sink, backsplash, appliances, access, schedule, or installation conditions after approval may require a revised price, lead time, drawing, or installation date.
Work outside the approved scope requires confirmation before it is performed. The written proposal, approved drawings, field measurements, and change approvals together define the project scope.
